A Quick End-of-Year Note from Zoe

Posted by Mary Gene Tagaylo on

Hi Everyone,

As we wrap up the year, I wanted to send a little update from our team and say thank you for being part of the Flat Out community. Whether you picked up a new bit of gear, told a mate about us, sent us a message, or simply cheered us on from afar, it has meant more than you know.

This year brought some big moments for us.

We launched the new teal range and added extension leads to our line up. We designed new storage bags to make organising your setup even easier. We also stepped into a new chapter by launching Flat Out USA with stock on the ground and a dedicated website.

Behind the scenes we began discussions with a major overseas company about a potential licensing opportunity. We also invested time into protecting our designs and brand. We're grateful to everyone who chooses genuine Flat Out products, and always appreciate your support.

On the fun side of things, we took our team to Vietnam for a week of team building and sightseeing, the boys looked excellent during Movember in support of a great cause (thank you for cheering them on) and we also upgraded our caravan. You will see plenty of "Wonder" next year as we dive into more educational videos about all the tricky parts of RV life, not just the connections. Follow our Facebook and Instagram to stay in the loop.

Your support this year has been extraordinary.

Our sales in the last six months were 55 percent higher than the previous six months. That growth only happens when people believe in what we make and share it with friends and family. Thank you for choosing quality and for letting our little Aussie business be part of your travels.

Now for something new.

We’ve added two new brass fittings to the Flat Out range.

Brass Hose Plug Set Brass Tap Dust Cap

The hose plug and tap dust cap are small, shiny and sparkly like Christmas ornaments, just far more useful.

The hose plug does exactly what it promises and neatly plugs your hose during transit. The dust cap (ever-so creatively named), caps your water inlet to keep road dust out and helps stop wasps and other creepy crawlies from deciding your pipes look like prime real estate while in storage. Both are made from quality brass and built to last.

A Note on Zone RV Receivership

Many of you will have seen the news about Zone RV, and I wanted to speak to it personally. My heart truly goes out to the staff, customers and families who are affected — it’s a really sad situation for a lot of people.

We are also among the suppliers impacted, and I won’t pretend this hasn’t been a heavy and unexpected financial blow for our small business. It’s a confronting time, but thanks to careful planning, strong foundations and wonderful customers such as yourselves, Flat Out remains stable, trading as usual and here for the long term. Our team is secure, and we will continue to stand behind our customers just as we always have.

I’m deeply grateful for the many messages, calls and quiet check-ins from this community over the past few days. That kindness has meant more than I can properly put into words.

If you’d like to hear directly from me, I’ve shared a couple of short videos here. One is an initial statement, and the other a follow-up on resilience.

You’re also welcome to follow along on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn as I share updates.

Thank you for being with us this year.

We are looking forward to a fresh year of new ideas, new adventures and helping you travel with less mess and fewer tangles.

From our team to yours, have a safe, happy and restful break.
