How to Repair a Flat Out Drink Water Hose Without Specialty Parts

If you've developed a leak near one end of your Flat Out Drink Water Hose, and you're handy with a few basic tools, there's a simple repair you can do without any specialty parts.
Here's how to get your hose back into service in just a few simple steps. See the video below to follow along as Zoe and her dad, Allan, demonstrate how to do this.
Step 1: Remove the Brass Fitting
Carefully separate the brass snap fitting from the crimp.
Note: Don't throw the brass snap fitting away. You won't need to buy a replacement, as standard snap fittings from most hardware stores won't fit a Flat Out Drink Water Hose. Most use a 12mm hose tail, whereas Flat Out drink water hoses use a 19mm hose tail. We offer a compatible repair kit so you can easily replace it if needed.
Step 2: Cut Off the Damaged Section
Trim the hose just behind the damaged area.
Step 3: Refit the Brass Snap Fitting
Push the original brass fitting back into the freshly cut end of the hose. Allow about 5mm for the snap fitting to slide up and down.
Step 4: Secure with a Hose Clamp
Slide a 14mm – 27mm stainless steel hose clamp over the hose and tighten it securely.
Once tightened, the fitting is held firmly in place and ready for use.
