Twelve metres is the short one in the Flat Out 15 amp range, it's the lightest of the three at 2.5 kg, and the quickest to run out and wind back, which is most of the appeal when you're only reaching a few metres.

New to Flat Out? This is a 12 metre 15 amp lead on a flat cable reel, made for people who plug in and unplug constantly rather than once a year.
It's the lightest 15 amp lead we make. 2.5 kg all up, carried in one hand without thinking about it.
Short is fast. Twelve metres runs out and winds back in seconds, so on a tight site you're plugged in before the kettle's on.
It doesn't wear out in storage. Leads die from handling rather than from anything electrical: dragged over gravel, crushed under a toolbox, knotted in the bottom of a locker. On the Multi-Reel it travels held in place, and the petals turn as you wind so the cord isn't scraped over an edge every time.
Nothing to learn. No spring, no ratchet, no mechanism to jam. Anchor one end, hold the handle, walk.
It stores flat. 65 mm deep, so it stands on its side in a locker or a ute drawer, and it stacks front to front with any other Compact Multi-Reel.

Why we bothered making our own
Flat Out sold cable reels for 24 years and never sold a lead with one. There was no reason to: if it was the same lead you'd buy at the hardware store, our name on it meant nothing.
Then we found the people who build leads for events, mining and industry, and asked them to make that lead in caravan lengths with caravan fittings. That's what's wound on this Multi-Reel.
Run the whole lead out, every time
A coiled lead under load builds heat. That's why the plug sits where it does on a Multi-Reel: you can't use the lead while it's still wound on, even in a hurry.
