About the New Teal Hose (and what's happened to the blue one)

Posted by Mary Gene Tagaylo on

Our much-loved blue Premium Drink Water Hose has been discontinued by our Melbourne manufacturer, who recently changed their production processes and made the tough call to cease supply. They’ve been producing our hose for over seven years, and we’re incredibly grateful for the quality and consistency they delivered during that time.

Even before this change, we were regularly running out of stock due to high demand — so this time last year, we began searching overseas for a secondary supplier. We weren’t chasing the cheapest option; we were looking for a manufacturer who could meet our high standards for drinking water safety, durability, and performance. We found the right partner and worked through a rigorous process of product redesign and testing.

The result is our new Teal Choice hose — made from FDA-approved polyurethane, compliant with AS2070, and supported by international certifications. While it hasn’t been AS4020 certified yet, the materials used and our own internal testing show it meets the same hygiene and microbial resistance criteria as our previous Premium hose.

Thanks to favourable exchange rates and lower overseas production costs, we’ve been able to offer this hose at a more accessible price — and we’re passing those savings on to you.

Don’t get us wrong — we love Aussie manufacturing and will always support it first. We’ve done our best to keep as many products as possible made in Australia, for as long as we could. Unfortunately, there was only one machine in the country capable of producing our Premium Aussie drink water hose.

In the background, we’re now working on a new, next-level Premium hose — and if we can make it in Australia, we will. We’re taking our time with it, because it’s important to us (and to you) that it not only lives up to the original — but exceeds it.
